US President Trump announces 10% tariff on UK watch imports
What does it mean exactly?
This means that US customers buying Wryst timepieces will see an average tax increase of only 4.1% across the 50 states.
British and American government representatives have made significant progress toward finalizing a commercial agreement. While the primary focus is on technological trade, the arrangement encompasses other economic areas and aims to lower import taxes.
When will this new tariff take place?
Both sides recognize that concluding and making the deal official could still require considerable time, potentially spanning several weeks or even months.
What will change compared to today's tariffs?
Previously, the tax rate for watches imported from the United Kingdom into the US varied for each state, on average, between 5.8% and 7.1%.
This should not stop our customers from the United States from purchasing a striking new timepiece from the watch brand Wryst.
10% is now the tax rate you can expect from any state in America. Our world-leading courier, DHL Express, will collect this tax directly.
DHL offers one of the best delivery services worldwide and is fast. For the United States, you can expect to receive your watch sent from the United Kingdom in 1 to 2 days maximum.
Buyers will now pay a consistent, slightly higher tariff nationwide, simplifying the purchasing process. This change eliminates the previous state-by-state variations, providing clarity and predictability for US customers.
How is the tax calculated from the UK to the US?
While creating the shipment with DHL, Wryst electronically adds the commercial invoice for your purchase. DHL services will then take over the customs clearance and contact you to settle the duty tax imposed by the American authorities.
The tax is calculated as a percentage of the watch's declared value on the purchase invoice. This value is determined by the purchase price of the watch, ensuring the tax is directly proportional to the item's worth.
They will then take your payment over the phone if you can do it straight away, or you can pay online on the DHL website directly with the details of your tracking number and the email you received for this shipment.
You are then all done. The next thing you know, the delivery man will arrive at your door and deliver your beautiful Swiss movement watch, Wryst.

The President of the United States has issued several Executive Orders (EOs) imposing additional tariffs on all countries and eliminating de minimis treatment for all products with a country of origin (COO). Additionally, shipments from all countries with a value over USD 800 now require formal entry processing into the United States. This limit was set at USD 2,500 prior to these regulatory updates. Previously, shipments valued between USD 800 and 2,500 could be cleared using a simplified and expedited informal entry process. These changes are being implemented under the emergency economic powers granted by the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). While the pause on reciprocal tariffs for specific countries remains in effect, the recent requirement for formal entry processing on all shipments valued over USD 800 from all countries is still in place today. As a result, informal (simplified) clearance is no longer possible for these shipments. These shipments are now subject to import customs duties based on the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which may include: General Duty Rate, Section 301 duties, and applicable IEEPA duties. Each of these shipments must now undergo individual formal clearance. Additional information and/or supporting documentation may be required for processing. This could include proof of the goods' country of origin. Furthermore, all formal entries must include the ultimate consignee’s Tax Identification Number (TIN), which can be either a Social Security Number (SSN) or an Employer Identification Number (EIN), along with supporting documents as needed.

Don't know why Americans still like Trump after the meeting with Zelinskyy in the oval office. For president of the United States I think he is behaving like a moron.
